01Do you clean gutters on Lakewood's tall older homes?
Yes. Most are two and a half stories, and we look at the height and access when we come out to quote.
02My downspout runs into the ground. Can you check it?
We flush every downspout, including ones tied into an underground drain, and tell you if it backs up. Clearing a collapsed underground line is a plumber's job and we will say so.
03How often do gutters need cleaning?
Twice a year for most homes on Cleveland's west side, late spring and again in November after the leaves finish dropping. Homes under mature oaks or maples often need a third visit. Homes with no trees nearby can usually go once.
04Do you blow them out or clean them by hand?
By hand. A blower is faster and it looks clean from the ground, but it only moves dry leaves. The packed sediment at the bottom of the trough, which is what actually holds water and rots the fascia, stays put. We pull it out.
05What do you do with the debris?
We bag it and take it with us. We do not dump it in your landscaping beds or leave piles on the lawn, which is a common shortcut and one you will find out about the next time you look behind the shrubs.
