Patios & Screens on Cleveland's west side

A screened porch is the part of the house that gets used the most in an Ohio summer and cleaned the least. Screens hold an astonishing amount of pollen and dust, and because you look through them every day you stop seeing it until it is washed.

Screen mesh cannot take pressure. It gets cleaned by hand with a soft brush and a gentle solution, along with the frames, the sills, the ceiling fan blades and the deck or slab underneath.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Clear and prep

Furniture moved out or covered, and the surrounding floor protected before anything gets wet.

  2. 02

    Brush the mesh

Every panel hand brushed on both sides with a soft head, which is the only way to get pollen out of screen without stretching it.

  3. 03

    Frames and structure

Frames, posts, ceilings, fan blades and light fixtures wiped down and rinsed.

  4. 04

    Floor and finish

The slab, deck or pavers underneath get cleaned, then the whole space gets rinsed and the furniture goes back.

What the job includes

  • Screened porches, sunrooms and pool enclosures
  • Retractable and fixed screen panels
  • Frames, posts, ceilings and fan blades
  • The deck, slab or pavers underneath
  • Cobwebs, wasp nests and mud dauber tubes cleared
  • Window screens cleaned as part of a window job at no extra charge

FAQs

FAQs about patios & screens

The questions we actually get asked about this service.

01Will pressure washing damage my screens?

Yes, which is why we do not do it. Pressure stretches mesh, pops spline out of the frame and can tear a panel outright. Screen gets hand brushed with a soft head and a gentle solution, every time.

02Do you clean the floor of the porch too?

Yes. The slab, deck boards or pavers under a screen room are part of the job. If it is wood we adjust the pressure well down so we do not raise the grain.

03Can you get wasp nests and mud dauber tubes off?

Yes, and they come off as part of the service. Active nests are a judgment call. If there is a live colony we will tell you and recommend treating it first rather than stirring it up while we are standing on a ladder.

04How long does a screened porch take?

Most run one to three hours depending on the number of panels and how much furniture has to move. A large pool enclosure takes longer and we will say so when we quote it.

05Do you clean window screens with a window job?

Yes, at no extra charge. Screens come out, get rinsed and go back where they belong. It is part of the window cleaning, not an add on.

06When is the best time to have it done?

Late spring, once the pollen has finished falling, so it stays clean through the season you actually use the porch. A second clean in early fall is worth it if you are under heavy trees.
