Exterior Windows pricing

What sets the price on your home

We do not publish a window cleaning price list, and we would be suspicious of anyone who quotes you without seeing the house. A ranch with 14 windows and a colonial with 32, a foyer window and storm windows are different jobs. Here is what goes into the number, so you know what you are comparing when you get quotes.

What changes the price

  1. 01

    Number of panes

The biggest single factor. Most companies, us included, are effectively pricing by the pane, so French panes and divided lites count as more glass than one big picture window.

  2. 02

    Height and access

Second story glass, foyer windows and anything over a roofline take longer. Water fed poles keep this cheaper than ladder work, but it still counts.

  3. 03

    Inside, outside or both

Exterior only is the most common job. Interior glass is done by hand and priced separately per pane.

  4. 04

    Screens, storms and tracks

Screens are included with us. Storm windows have to be cleaned on both sides and add time.

  5. 05

    Condition

First cleans after years without one, construction dust, paint specks and hard water etching all add time. Etching is quoted as a separate restoration.

  6. 06

    How often you book

Regular visits are faster because the glass never gets bad, which is why plans are discounted.

How to pay less

  • Book a plan. Biannual takes $50 off every visit and Triannual takes $100 off.
  • Bundle gutters or a house wash onto the same visit. Bundling always saves.
  • Do exterior every visit and interior once a year.

Red flags in a cheap quote

  • A price over the phone without anyone looking at the house.
  • No mention of screens, sills or tracks.
  • No proof of insurance, especially for second story work.
  • No guarantee if the glass is streaky the next day.

FAQs

Pricing questions

01Do you charge per window?

We quote by the house, with pane count as the biggest input. You get one number for the whole job, not a per window rate that changes when we count.

02Why don't you publish prices or quote over the phone?

Because a made up number does not help you. We come out, look at the house and give you an exact price in person, free and with no obligation. Often we can do the work on that same visit.

03Is interior window cleaning more expensive?

Per pane, yes, because it is done by hand with drop cloths and shoe covers. Adding it to an exterior visit costs less than booking it on its own.
