House Washing in Strongsville, OH: Why Soft Washing Works
By Stephen Cain, Purified Wash ยท June 11, 2026
House washing in Strongsville, OH is best done with a soft wash, which uses low pressure and a cleaning solution to lift algae, mildew and grime from siding. It cleans vinyl, aluminum, brick, stucco and painted exteriors without the damage high pressure can cause.
- Algae and mildew turn Strongsville siding green, especially on shaded walls.
- Soft washing cleans siding at low pressure without the damage high pressure can cause.
- Landscaping is soaked before and rinsed after every house wash.
Why does siding in Strongsville turn green?
Strongsville has many large colonials and vinyl-sided homes, from the Southpark Mall area out toward the Mill Stream Run Reservation. Ohio weather lets green algae, mildew, dirt and organic growth spread across exterior walls, and the house slowly turns a dingy greenish gray.
North walls, shaded sides and homes near the Metroparks usually show it first.
The growth is more than cosmetic. Algae and mildew hold moisture against the siding, and the longer they sit, the harder they are to remove.
Light-colored vinyl shows the growth clearly, so a house can look older than it is long before the siding itself is worn.
Why is soft washing safer than pressure washing siding?
A standard pressure washer can gouge vinyl, etch aluminum, force water behind siding and damage brick mortar. Soft washing avoids that by using low pressure with a cleaning solution that lifts the growth off the surface.
That makes soft washing the right method for house washing in Strongsville on vinyl, aluminum, brick, stucco and painted exteriors.
High pressure alone also tends to leave the greenish-gray film behind, because it knocks off the surface dirt without treating the growth itself.

What should Strongsville homeowners look for in a house washing company?
Make sure the company soft washes siding and is insured. Purified Wash carries $1 million in general liability coverage, and we can provide the certificate on request. We hold a 5.0 Google rating from 47 reviews.
Ask how they protect your landscaping, too. A company that soaks plants before the wash and rinses them after is paying attention to the whole property.
Our quotes are free and in person, there is no deposit, and you pay after the job.
We come out, look at the property and give you an exact price, and often we can do the work on the same visit.
Can you clean windows or gutters on the same visit?
Yes. Many homeowners add window cleaning, gutter cleaning or a roof soft wash, and bundling services on one visit saves money.
A clean house also makes dirty windows and streaked gutters stand out more, so pairing them is common for Strongsville homes.
