Pressure Washing for Cleveland homes

Pressure washing in Cleveland is mostly concrete that has been through a lot of winters: front walks with salt haze, driveways stained by years of parked cars, back patios that grew green under a shade tree. We run a surface cleaner on all of it, so the slab comes out one even color instead of covered in wand stripes.

Plenty of city concrete is old and starting to flake, and that is where cheap power washing does real damage. We check the slab first and drop the pressure on anything that is spalling, and we tell you up front what it will and will not do. For storefronts we also wash sidewalks and entries early, before you open.

Most of the west side of Cleveland was built before 1950, which means frame houses, Cleveland doubles and brick bungalows on narrow lots with a lot of original wood trim. Tight side yards make ladder work slow and risky, older paint does not survive a pressure washer, and the storefronts along Lorain, Detroit and West 25th pick up road film fast. Water fed poles and soft washing are made for exactly this kind of street.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Pre treat

Oil, rust, mildew and organic staining get spot treated first, because water pressure alone does not lift any of them.

  2. 02

    Surface clean

The surface cleaner runs the open concrete in overlapping passes at a fixed height, so the finish is even end to end.

  3. 03

    Edge and detail

Wand work along the edges, expansion joints, steps and anywhere the round head cannot reach.

  4. 04

    Rinse and inspect

A full rinse pushes the slurry off the slab and away from the beds, then we walk it with you.

FAQs

Pressure Washing in Cleveland: FAQs

01Is pressure washing the same as power washing?

For a homeowner, yes. Strictly speaking power washing uses heated water, which is what we use on oil and grease, but people use the two words for the same service and so do we.

02Do you pressure wash shared driveways?

Yes. Plenty of Cleveland homes share a driveway with the house next door. We will clean your half, or the whole thing if your neighbor wants in, and we can quote the two of you separately.

03What are zebra stripes and why does my driveway have them?

They are the arcs left by a pressure washer wand swung by hand. The wand is closer to the concrete at the center of the arc than at the edges, so it cleans unevenly, and once the pattern is in the slab it stays until the whole surface is recleaned. A surface cleaner holds a fixed height and cannot leave them.

04Will pressure washing damage my concrete?

Not at the pressure and technique we use. Damage happens when someone holds a zero degree tip inches off the slab and etches it. Older or already spalling concrete gets a lower pressure and a wider tip, and we will tell you before we start if we think a slab is too far gone to clean hard.

05Can you get oil stains out?

Usually, and rarely all the way. Fresh oil lifts well with a degreaser and heat. Old oil that has soaked deep into the pores will lighten significantly but often leaves a shadow. We will tell you honestly what to expect before we quote it rather than after.
